ATTN: anti-smoking people...

you know.. as someone who used to smoke cigarettes... and as someone who doesn't smoke them anymore... i gotta say.. those of you who think smoking is disgusting and want to tell smokers that it's bad for you are barking up the wrong tree.  seriously, you really think people who smoke or have smoked in the past don't know that it's bad for you or that you think it's disgusting? WELL DUH.

smoking starts as a choice and then it becomes something we have to deal with everyday.  you telling a smoker that it's gross or bad doesnt help.. it's only really retardedly annoying and makes you look like an asshole.  really, i dont even smoke anymore and i still feel like tell you anti-smokers to bite me. we don't need your opinions.  we already know the truth. 

and besides, most smokers i know are pretty decent about not bothering other people with their smoke.  smokers are already forced outside of most public places anyway..  if someone is unaware that their smoke is bothering you, kindly ask them to move or put it out and they'll oftentimes kindly aquiesce.  you don't have to be rude about it.

In China

NPR has been running a lot of stories about China in light of the Beijing Olympics.

The following things have sparked my attention:

-Recently, a Shenzhen factory has been making Free Tibet flags..for export.

-One restaurateur in Beijing told reporters that an old Chinese proverb says "A smoke after a meal makes you feel like an immortal." Proverb or an old Marlboro Man commercial?

-Apparently half of the Chinese population has to deal with secondhand smoke. 340 million people smoke anyways and other 200 million people can't afford cigarettes so they go make ironic flags.
