I don't know what to do, team.

This boy that I dated over a year ago has been recently trying to get back into my life. After ignoring his various attempts at communicating with me, I finally told him I have no interest in getting hurt/played again. Now he's acting like Mr. Sensitive and telling me he never intended to "play" me, which I still don't believe. The point is he succeeded at engaging me in conversation via text messages, and I'm frustrated because it's only a matter of time before these texts turn into phone calls, which could turn into us hanging out, which could turn into... well, you get the idea. Sometimes I let my loneliness cloud my good judgement.

Being politically correct is NOT a bad thing.

You know, people who don't believe in being "politically correct" are dicks. I know they say they are "telling it like it is". But shouldn't we be striving for the best society for people to live, instead of constantly bringing it down by using derogatory terms for ethnic groups, religions, sexualities, social classes and genders?

Perhaps as a feminist this a big issue for me.  Gender inclusive words like "humankind" instead of "mankind" or "ancestors" instead of "forefathers" are postive improvements in my life as a woman living in a patriarchal society.

I get pissy when ignorant people want to demonize the practice of being politically correct by making it look like I'm some pussy who don't want to tell it straight. No, I'm a nice person who wants to give everyone the respect they deserve. Even when they act like an idiot and I lose all respect for them as an individual, I'm not going to call them some derrogatory term. Besides, by that point, I have no need in my life to even speak to that person.

psa: it's still winter

dear women,

you may have forgotten what time of year it is, so please keep this in mind when you get changed in the morning:

it's winter still. W-I-N-T-E-R.

when you see a glimmer of sunshine, you should not immediately put on short shorts, mini skirts or other revealing clothing. it's still FREEZING outside.

you just look plain ridiculous. and you're cold. and you're making me want to stick hot knitting needs in my eyes. spare us all.

yours truly,
those of us who cherish our eyesight
