Tomorrow. Surgery. Specifically, a full-on hysterectomy. The doctor says this is more serious than even the C-sections I've had. I'm afeared.

If this shit is going around at your work, or email, or social networking circles -- please disregard. Courtesy flashes are a good thing. Needless fear isn't Really. If it really did ever happen, do you really think that the news from HUNDREDS of murders with the same M.O. would REALLY not be on the front page of every news paper and on CNN and everywhere else for a month or so? I mean it is an awesome story, creepier than most of the scary stories and movies you ever saw. But it isn't true. PLEASE. Pass. This. On.

Things I can’t quite shake from the 1980s: 1. The certain knowledge that one day I'll find myself trapped inside a discarded fridge, be unable to escape, and die. 2. Velour shirts on picture day. 3. Steve Perry's "Street Talk" on 12" vinyl. 4. Hard shell taco and cinnamon crispa night with my paternal grandparents. 5. The irrational, lasting, white-hot anger created that black day in 1987 when George Bell won the AL MVP trophy over Alan Trammel.
