"Kiss Kiss" the Cat Died Today
My family had to put down our cat "Kiss Kiss" today. Her lungs were full of fluid and her organs were shutting down. Basically old age had caught up to her. She was 18 years old, and I had her since 5th grade. Its wild to realize how long pets stand by you in your life, so much has changed since 5th grade.
I remember one school day morning during middle school I decided to say good bye to my cat one more time. It was very strange for me to stop heading off to the bus stop just to wave to say, "Later Kitty" one more time. Our cat walked around the backyard on a leash. Mainly cause we feared traffic and other cats. With my jacket and backpack on I went to the back yard and noticed that her leash was ridgid and vibrating as it led around the corner. I turned the corner and was shocked to see my cat hanging herself! There was no more slack on the leash after she jumped through a playhouse window to explore what was inside. I grabbed her and she clawed me as I loosened the noose. I carried her inside and she slowly went from panting to normal breathing. I thought, "You are lucky that something told me to turnaround". I got to stay home that day.
Everyday after that was a bonus for her. She will be missed, I will miss what was my last surviving childhood pet. I'm glad I took time to see her off.
