HELP! Which book should I read?

From the library:

The Fortress of Solitude, Jonathan Lethem

In Persuasion Nation, George Saunders (short stories)

From my shelves:

Assassination Vacation, Sarah Vowell

A Long Way Gone, forget the author, but it's some boy soldier

I make colouring books...

The last one was The Anti-Fascist colouring Book. It's done fairly well for itself and it's sales have actually covered it's expense/my time. I'm planning the next one. I think I want to do parts of the brain, would anyone be interested in this idea? Is the brain an interesting enough subject? Would it need captions? (this part makes me realize my roommate is stinky, for example).

I would like feedback.

Thank you.

I would like to learn more world history.

Please recommend books and/or sites to help me scratch the surface.

Assume I know nothing... because that's pretty accurate.

Tonight's Half Price Books booty

Anne Rice - Cry to Heaven ($3)

Stephen King - It ($3)

John Gunther - Death Be Not Proud ($1)

Barbara Ann Kipfer - 14,000 Things to be Happy About ($1) Been meaning to buy this for some time.
