OCD Pulled Pork Nightmare
After watching a Food Network program about BBQ I decided to make a slow cooked pork shoulder BBQ in my oven. I went out late in the day Sunday to get all the ingredients, which included a 6 pound pork shoulder, 1 cup dry rub and a roasting pan. The recipe called for a 8 hour cook time. I decided that I would cook the shoulder as I slept and wakeup to some BBQ goodness. Unfortunatly the idea that the oven would explode while I slept and kill me entered my mind. I had already prepared the meat and thrust it into the oven when these thoughts surfaced, so it was too late to turn back.
Every hour of the night lastnight I got up atleast once to make sure my kitchen wasn't on fire. I'm tired and angry at myself for not just sleeping though the night. Now I have a shit load of pork and no BBQ sauce. This goes under the rule of not going to the grocery store when your hungry. BAM!
your story is a reminder that life is PAIN and SORROW.
