Grand Theft Auto IV and Mario Kart Wii come out within 2 days of each other. What would've been better is if they came out the same day, AS THE SAME GAME.

@beckteria: She DOES get kidnapped a lot.
She was probably asking for it though. Always putting herself in situations where she gets kidnapped.
no way, she's a PRINCESS, she'd totally string mario along
she'd be like "Hey Mario, if you take out Donkey Kong's knee caps, i'll bake you a "cake," if you know what i mean..."
"And a, what flavor will cake-a be?"
"Peach of course"
"MAMA MIA"
If it means a fiery death for Yoshi -- is he even involved anymore? -- I'm all for it.
but i'm thinking more like this takes place in mushroom kingdom, and you beat up toads for their coins
and wario is some drunken confederate weapon shop owner selling your black market fire flowers and tanooki suits
the best mission is when you get the kuribo boot and try to stamp out the shy guy mob
I think these are two great tastes that don't go great together.
That said... hmmm... would an open-world Mario game actually be any good?
like an action based mario rpg? might be cool but it could also end up like shenmue or something.
"do you know where I can find some koopa troopas?"
@Twigby: Yeah, something like that.
I loved, loved, LOVED Super Mario RPG on the SNES. And while the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi series have been really good, they haven't exactly scratched the same itch.
Also, Mario + QTE = FAIL
yah Mario RPG was freaking awesome and unfortunately released when the SNES was all but trying it's best to claw out of the grave
As long as Nintendo's milking Mario for all he's worth, they might as well.
If nothing else, I'd like to see a Japanese - well, okay, NINTENDO - take on the sandbox genre.
one could argue that shenmue and yakuza are both sandbox games and if you REALLY wanna stretch it, possibly pikmin?
i don't think the genre appeals to the japanese public though and thus never gets made

"eh Bowsah, say 'ello to my little friend!"
