Depending on your OS, there are free programs for file recovery, even if you've emptied the recycle bin.

@Fiz - Yeah, but its been months. I don't know when they disappeared, so I wouldn't even begin to know where to look.
@ABNA - Life goes on. Gives me an excuse to go out and shoot more.
They weren't client images, so its not the end of the world, but there were some good photos there and I'd really like to know what happened to them. They're not on the main drive, the backup drive, the offloader, or the offsite backup.
I'm quite perplexed. I'm usually fanatical about getting my images off-site as soon as possible. I'm not sure how I totally failed myself this time, but I feel like a part of me is missing.
Feh.
