Girls like Twilight....WOMEN prefer True Blood. Discuss.

I'm not sure it's fair to call Twilight melodramatic, since the conflict is qualitatively typical of the teenage brain's response to stress, making the quantity not much of a stretch. The conflict in True Blood may be exaggerated to that same quantity, but qualitatively it's typical of the adult brain's response to stress.
True Blood is a campy soap opera. Twilight is an extended metaphor for how much it sucks being a Mormon high school student.
Half-vampire baby tearing the mother open from inside and the father having to chew it out with his bare teeth isn't melodramatic? Edward breaking the bed and tearing apart the pillows in their first sexual encounter isn't melodramatic? Or the whole vampire-council-sparkling-in-sunlight-last-minute cross-country trip to throw oneself on one's beloved's neck thing? Just cause teenagers CAN be melodramatic doesn't excuse the book's own melodrama.
my mom likes twilight (the movies). I like true blood. SHRUG.
true fact: think there are women and girls who don't like either!
black guys drive a car like THIS
white guys drive a car like THAT
lol, I have not read Twilight, but sadly its cultural reach is such that I know its plot events fairly well.
I do not like twilight. I even read all the books and have seen the movies(at the request of someone 15 yrs older than me, who loves both). The writing in the books is SO BAD. The the way she throws in those adverbs is just way too self-parody (as if a little is okay?). The movies are hard for me to watch, because I just get embarassed for everyone involved (they ARE making tons of bank though).
However, I LOVE TRUE BLOOD. Me and my friends that watch make a running mst3k commentary and have a tendency to yell out lines that some character has just said just to mimic the accent- but it is HILAR, and that tall scandinavian actor (also in the gaga video), well, he's not all that hard to look at.

@TWIGBy MacLeod Nah, just read critiques. But Salomea has at least seen some of the movies.

I'm in agreement, but I feel compelled to point out the "Twilight moms" phenomenon.
