Well, Netflix just became less terrific. THANKS WARNER BROTHERS, you scumbags.

Are they going to stop shipping them to rental stores like Blockbuster too? So fucking stupid.

mizsarah said, (36 days ago)

Do not like.

Garak said, (36 days ago)

yeah, i know......pretty crappy. depending on the movie, i might go to the store and rent if it's something i really wanna see....but this really just irks me more than anything.

Skanko said, (36 days ago)

@garak - do they REALLY think that people are not BUYING movies because they've seen it on netflix? I mean that has never crossed my mind. I buy a lot of dvds, and if i want to own it, i will buy it and NOT rent it on netflix. it just seems stupid.

@mizsarah - i can't wait till they realize they've screwed themselves.

FUCKING WEEEEEAAAAAK.

Why is it that the suits at media companies are ALWAYS such boneheads? They make the most obvious fucking mistakes all the goddamned time.

Skanko said, (36 days ago)

Like I really want to know how many people could AGREE on this being a good idea. It just doesnt even make sense, it's such a stretch.

Bustie said, (36 days ago)

You know who agrees? The henchpeople of whomever made that bonehead decision.

You know what would get people to buy? MAKE YOUR DAMN MOVIES WORTH BUYING. Lower Blu-Ray prices, more special features. If I have eight hours of special features, I'm going to buy the damned thing so I can watch them at my leisure. Notsomuch if it's just movies, deleted scenes, a trailer and a half-hour PR featurette.

TonightWillFall said, (36 days ago)

I concur Skanko. If I like a movie enough to buy it, buy it I shall. If anything netflix helps influence that decision. Especially if I didn't get to see it in the theatre.

Skanko said, (36 days ago)

Exactly! Netflix is probably HELPING the sales of DVDs not hurting.

this is how blockbuster tries to stay in business. they were loosing out to netflix so they worked with the wb to get them to do this. blockbuster is a name that is gonna fade away within the next couple of years because of netflix and those movie rental red boxes. as someone who works at a mom and pop rental store the only reason why we are open still is because we offer things that netflix doesn't have to teachers in the area and that the owners just cant bring themselves to close it.

I personally don't have a netflix account but I rent from the red box dvd rentals all the time. its a buck for a new release..its perfect for me....and when I go to rent on there is always a line.

smart- tea said, (36 days ago)

also miramax has a deal with blockbuster exclusivity as well. its just how people are trying to protect others. I mean, hollywood video (if anyone still has one in their area) has finally filed chapter 11 - closing more and more stores and they just closed like 500 with in the last few years...rental stores are on the out.

Skanko said, (36 days ago)

its just ridiculous, i only laugh b/c its not gonna last, and WB will realize what a stupid mistake it was, because guess what, anyone that has NETFLIX is not gonna buy a dvd or go to blockbuster because they can't get it on NETFLIX they will just wait. or hopefully, not watch it at all. That fucks the filmmakers who want people to watch their movies more than anyone else.
