Actually, I dig real Detroit techno as well (and probably even some of that "Detroit Techno" that is really made in London as well.) But, dammit, I'm Jay Def!

@nomi - Yeah, pretty much.
Basically, back when people like Juan Atkins and Derrick May were making techno, it was just called "Techno". It didn't really start being called Detroit Techno until people like Richie Hawtin started calling their version of what Atkins and May were doing and calling it "Detroit Techno".
