Ok so I decided (as I always do, even though its been a disappointment since Pinkerton) to listen to the new WEEZER album. And what do I get smacked in the ears with? LIL WAYNE HAS A VERSE ON ONE OF THE SONGS. HAHAHAH FUCKING OUTSTANDING.

hahahah GREAT. I CANT WAIT TO LISTEN TO IT.
also, the people in the comments section of that website calling that mashup album a "desecration" must not have listened to the Green or Red Albums.
yeah dude yeah
i think rivers performed a live version of can't stop partying several months back on altnation with jason schwartzman (swoon) but i had no idea that lil wayne was in it!!!!!!!!!!
@hena - YEAH its kinda weird, but it also kinda fits.
somebody sent me a video of Weezer covering MGMT and Lady Gaga which was also quite awesome.
this mashup album thing has its moments, but its just not really executed very well.(which is why i like girltalk, everything he does is like 100 levels above any other mashup thing i've ever heard)
YOU SHOULD BE PUNCHED IN THE FACE FOR LISTENING TO THAT ALBUM.
WEEZER IS DEAD CRAIG. DEAD.
Did you see the Weezer Snuggie yet? You get the album for free if you buy it... totally not joking.
@nikki - HEY! I listen to every new Weezer album that comes out. Then get mad and throw it away. I'm a masochist what can I say.
This one isn't half bad though, or at least its better than Red and Green, which isn't saying much.
@skanko - I do the same. Why do we feel the need to inflict ourselves whenever they release a new album?
i havent listen to any weezer in a good long time, but i dowant my own pocket sized crazy ass rivers .... that boy is INSANE.
@slowpoke - honestly, i guess its because i love the blue album and pinkerton so much, a small part of me still wishes for something even close to that to come back.
have you listened to this one yet?
Somehow, I don't like much of their later day stuff - a lot of songs are silly to the point of being completely annoying (i.e. - Island In The Sun, Beverly Hills - catchy, but also overplayed, Perfect Situation).
But I guess that radio loves them and Rivers Cuomo is a certified rock star, so I don't think that he really cares what anyone thinks about him and his band (as he said in "Pork & Beans").
Oh, and more recently I heard Biffy Clyro cover of "Buddy Holly", which sounds kinda...different from the original.
@slowpoke - i thought it was ok. the first song was the best song on the album, which i always hate b/c then it feels like everything else is a disappointment. but i thought it was an improvement on their past few at least.
