Yep - music industry is quickly trying to milk a couple of dollars out of dying cow, apparently.
Don't get me wrong, I loved CD artwork and things like that, but all the stuff that they did recently is just stupid and its going to backfire eventually.
i normally buy an album if i like it. games too, but there's too much garbage out there to spend money on the unproven. i definitely think you should support people if they make something you'd like to see more of.
what i see happening is a crackdown on the entire internet, because we are going to charged for every little thing and the taxman won't want his cut dl'd. i hear rumblings that newsgroups are in the sights of the beast as well.
I tend to wait til bands go on tour and give them my money instead of the label
