apparently he was finished with it. and loved it. and they are making him do massive recuts and reshoots b/c during test screenings it made babies cry.
I gotta tell you, after I read this plot summary…
"The film concerns the imaginary adventures of a young boy named Max, who is angry after being sent to his room without supper. He then creates a forest inhabited by many large imaginary monsters, who crown him their ruler. He then befriends a large monster called Carol, who helps him understand the meaning of love."
…I despaired. People, this will not be quality. It may look good, but it's going to be hollow.
@fuznotfuz: wha? If they can bring those characters to life in a way that takes me back to the innocence of the book, then fuck the plot.
@slowpoke: That's the thing: they won't bring it back to the innocence and simplicity of the book. They're going to add excessive complications, explicit lessons, blah blah blah.
End result: I think it's going to look pretty. And I think it's going to be immensely unsatisfying. Not as unsatisfying as the butt-rapes of Doctor Seuss, but along that same highway.

I KNOWWWWWWWWWWW
