I'm on a crazed national tour. Six cities in nine days... Detroit, Austin (pre-SXSW), Philadelphia, Princeton NJ, somewhere in Long Island, and Manhattan.

Eek. if you think that's crazed, wait 'til you hear my plans for summer! I'm gonna hit up every state. except, I don't know, Wyoming.
am leaving philadelphia early tomorrow morning, returning to los angeles on tuesday night. it's a job, interviewing film academics about alfred hitchcock for an upcoming DVD release of the david o. selznick era films, including 'rebecca', 'spellbound', 'the paradine case', etc. have barely slept since sunday and hardly any time for sight-seeing. but now i know loads about hitchcock, selznick, daphne du maurier, and the wonders of holiday inn expresses of all flavors.
@aleigh: i mentioned it in your 'introduce yerself' post. nice city you got here!
Your job sounds pretty spectacular to me! I'm sorry I didn't realize it in time that you were here.
I'm glad you like Philadelphia though! What part of the city are you staying in? I would have taken you out for some delicious coffee or tea!
Another city, then soon. Yes, likely playing shows and also LOTS of exploration and lots of getting to know towns, cities, and people. I'm traveling for 2+ months as of June 30th-ish. I may even already have a subletter!
wow, fantastic! you should post your itinerary here so that folks can give you exploration tips.
i'd been here once before, also for work, and also too briefly. we're downtown, the lovely holiday inn on arch st.
As Dolph Lundgren He-Man might say, Good Journey.
Also that sounds like a pretty fucking fantastic job, albeit I'm sure exhausting.
yes... tired. just arrived in long island. still, not a bad trip. shot at Princeton this morning. amazingly beautiful campus, like a fantasy of what a college is. even in the heavy rain.
Hello. I don'T know you. But I get the feeling I'd like to.
Sadly, you're not coming to Japan are you?
@katymonster: don't think we ever chatted via consu. i'd like to know you, too! sadly no trips to japan in my immediate future. though i will be in san francisco and las vegas soon...
@libi: hi!!! yep, have been learning loads about selznick. he was quite the character, yes? always hopped up on benzedrine, rarely slept and had a team of round-the-clock secretaries for his obsessive marathon memos.
Aw, what a shame. Japan is really great. Teeray (makelikepaper) even made it out here!
I'm sure I'll be back in the States though in the next year....
Have a great national tour!
manhattan now. 57th and 5th ave. how is it that a nice hotel makes crazy loud noises from the heating pipes... in EVERY ROOM.
wow! i wish i'd known you were here at sxsw. still here! but there's so much to do in san francisco.
@urban_mermaid - i was there in between the caucuses and sxsw, around the 6th. not a lot of free time then. i'm in tiburon now for a friend's wedding. will be in SF proper on sunday night, then working in the city on monday, fly back that night. hope you're having fun at sxsw!

wait, what when?
