Despite being a supposed animation nerd I had never seen it until now? I only realized that when I happened upon the South Park cat urine episode and realized it was all a reference to Heavy Metal even though I hadn't, um, actually ever seen it.

The first time I saw it was my 1st year of university. I'm not sure why, but I was mildly offended. Probably because I was high off my ass and it was a FIRST DATE in the small school independent theater hall where they showed mostly second run movies, and thinking, "This is totally a GUY movie. OMG, he totally is thinking he wants to get laid, tonight. Ew!"

Yeah, totally, it's clearly like a male adolescent fantasy thing.
I appreciate it in a dirty pleasure sort of way, but I could ever imagine subjecting someone to it on a date.
