I possibly have to go to a chirorpractor for the first time. Any tips?

i'm a little freaked out because it's not actually my back that hurts, it feels almost like a pinched nerve in my shoulder or something. all i know is my left shoulder is killing me and my arm is getting weaker as the day goes on
Since you're going for a specific problem, you should be able to determine fairly quickly if they're helping you or not, and so you can avoid any longer-term commitments to them if it's not working out.
Be wary of health advice not related to their field. A lot of chiros have moved into the dietary supplement areas and may or may not have much of a background to make those pronouncements.
Otherwise, treat them you would any business or service you're paying for. If they are unsatisfactory, you are free to shop around.

Don't say "I can't move" after their first adjustment. That tends to make 'em cranky.
