Women: funny and pretty?

http://www.avclub.com/content/node/75270

Vanity Fair recently published an article about all the hot ass comediennes that are popular now.  She actually described them as "almost beautiful".  WTF?

Eh. They are pretty, but not beautiful by Vanity Fair standards, is all.

Imagine what they would have said if they included dear Rachel Dratch in that mess.

Plus, that article was written very tongue-in-cheek, so maybe she was just being, I don't know, funny.

The article was written by Allesandra Stanely, a notorious plastic surgery addict. So she has issues with beauty ideals I guess. I really don't think it's a stretch to call any of those women beautiful.

I like Tina Fey's seizure face.

It's not called "positive personality attribute fair".

This is exactly what we were discussing in Women's Studies class tonight. There is only one image a woman can hold: beautiful and gentle. However, men can be many, many images: fat and funny, handsome and funny, skinny and angry, fat and angry, etc etc etc.

LOL @ Women's Studies

Good point, Joel. Still if they have these ladies on their cover, I think they qualify as beautiful. CASE CLOSED

I was pleased to see that Annie Leibovitz -- pretty damned funny in her own right! -- shot the photo you used in your blog katie.

Not only is Tina Fey funny, she's smarter than I am. I know, because I saw it on the cover of a glossy magazine once... (http://www.geekmonthly.com/ -- hey Ben, what are my markup options here?)
