I just gave blood!

Yay, I love giving blood. It makes me feel like a good person for a day or two.
Giving blood makes me feel like I'm giving back to the community without giving too much time or money. It was my first experience with the Blood Center of the Pacific, and they were just fine. I'm sure I'm on their list now, so I anticipate a phone call in 56 days.
I don't give blood. I draw it.
Some people would call me an artist.
I call myself, THE PUNISHER.
i miss giving blood tremendously. it was one of my favorite things to do. in college i had a couple of "blood buddies" and it was always a fun, positive, social experience.
i also really like when the tube lies across your arm, and you can feel the heat in it as your blood passes through. it's a good reminder of what it means to be living.
I havent given blood in ages. I think I'm finally allowed since it's been officially a year since I got my tattoo. Next time they're at the supermarket I'm gonna do it. YAY
I've gotten my blood rejected multiple times for low iron.
I should eat that sandwich twigby was talking about.
I find that in general, if I eat about and hour before donating and chug water all morning, the procedure is quick and painless. I got bumped once for having low iron, but only once out of at least 12 times.
When I try to give blood, my peripheral arteries clamp down and I pass out almost immediately. Apparently this means I'm less likely to bleed to death if I suffer a traumatic injury, but it makes me pretty useless for blood donation.

I do it for the stickers and the snacks.
