The Ice Storm. i didn't not-like-it, but i thought it was only ok when i first saw it.
Now it's probably in my top 50-100 movies of all time. (i know that's a lot of movies, but i love a lot of movies)
it's a beautiful and deeply moving film. and i think it's much better than American Beauty, which came out around the same time and dealt with some similar themes.
oh, also, Slither is just sort of "enh". i had high hopes for it being a fun throwback to 80's-style horror, but it just kind of sits there, neither horror nor comedy.
@Garak- "The Ice Storm" yay!
I was actually watching "The Darjeeling Limited" last night (it was on one of the cinemax channels) and I think its grown on me since I saw it back when it first came out on DVD. I really hated it the first time I saw it and even wrote an angry blog about how Wes Anderson just wanted an excuse to go to India. I wouldn't say that I love The Darjeeling Limited but I have a new found admiration for it. Also, the soundtrack is pretty neat. Another also, I don't think I would have given the movie another chance if it wasn't for cinemax and its repeating schedule of movies!!
ha, i watched DARJEELING LIMITED again last night, too, on Cinemax (even though i own the dvd - i hate when i wind up doing that). i liked it the first time, but am liking it the more i watch it.
i agree, the music is great
@garak- HA! I just added it to my amazon.com, ongoing, list of dvds to purchase...I DO need it to complete my Wes Anderson collection... I also need The Royal Tenembaums on DVD because i have it on VHS :P
garak- that's what happened to me.
i saw in theaters, this shit is awful
i caught it on tv when nothing was on, it was kinda funny.
i found it in the 2 dollar bin, why not? it wasn't that bad
watched it again, this is ok.
watch it with a friend who wanted to see it, this shit is awesome.

It's a country. You know, where "Ginese" people come from.
