FYI: My favorite font is Palatino Linotype. This knowledge is for the greater good.

aw THANKS
yeah i tried to be a font snob during my dekstop publishing days, but, yeah, i'm all about the times!
I like the clean lines of Futura and the classic forms of Jensen.
I'm so very happy we are all getting to know these very personal details about one another. You see! I told you all of this really is for the greater good!
I am pro-Palatino. It's a truly vintage type and doesn't have the stark look of arial or, the worst default font of all time, Calibri.
I have warmed up to helvetica a lot over the years, but as a web designer, I try to stick to fonts everyone has, hence: Trebuchet and Tahoma. Even linux users have those if they have anything like OpenOffice installed.
I am also a big fan of that barely legal porno font with the hearts in everything. not sure what it's called though.
I don't like Helvetica. Feel it's over-used. Univers is getting that way too.
Then there are the crazy way out there fonts like Osprey and Rage that I want to use but never get a chance to.
@ The Management: Village bicycle, I'm afraid. Maybe I feel this way because I saw it too often in school and still see it too frequently now.
I'm kinda in the middle of a fling with Century Gothic. I've used it on my resume and on my coverletters, and it looks so clean and open and professional but not stuffy. But ask me again in a month - Our relationship may have soured by then.
@ffs: I'm the same way. Granted, I have my staple fonts that I use for design, but when it comes to personal preference, I'm a slut with fonts: a new favorite every week with a couple on the side.
I don't play favorites, (and I like the decorative fonts that should only really be used for titling and logos, and even then, sometimes never) but Verdana is my go to for emails, notes and such.
It's just so... friendly.
I love monospace terminal fonts. The one I use all over Windows is called "ter-112n".
I also like the Metallica font, but mostly because it's called Pastor of Muppets.
I hate when people try to create a terminal-like graphic without using a true monospace font though. Whenever I see that, I get a little itchy in my stabbin' arm.
Myriad is the best font ever. It's the one they use for Apple, the new Wal-Mart logo, and the University of Virginia.
I don't really care about those, but it's a damn good font.
@Jay/Skanko - awesome.
@Fiz: I track and kern obsessively when dealing with logos. I even change letter sizes, proportions, combine characters and do all sorts of goofy things. As evidenced by:

I feel gross when confronted with "weird" spaces.
Oh, I just realized the operative word was 'terminal' Yes, authenticity is key, there.
I love MrsEaves for serif body copy. I don't really have a favorite sans serif, but I tend to use Myriad quite often.
@nomi: I can be just as picky with kerning/leading/etc. (and I like the last logo, except I'm not comfortable with the tassle overlapping both the 'o' and touching the 't', just my 22¢)

i'm boring i like times new roman and arial, WHAT?
