@Cent: Not sure, honestly. I'm still a little floored. (I was one of those, a friend e-mailed the two of us, and so I've just had a couple of e-mail exchanges with him.)

I'd be curious to know if he was "cured" of the gay or if he's bisexual or if he thinks it was just a phase or what.
One of my best friends in high school was sent to gay deprogramming and it SO DID NOT WORK. Ha!

@DFG: It was some sort of insane religious retreat that his conservative parents sent him to. The basically tried to pray the gay out of him.

When I say devoted, I really mean devout. The last one to leave the fold, is what I would have said.
