@skip: okay. it depends on which news outlet you consult.
some have nc, missouri, and indiana. some have just nc and missouri (w/ indiana blue). and some have just nc (w/ missouri red and indiana blue).
CRAZYPANTS.
@rink - Nebraska allocates it's electoral votes based on congressional district. It's looking like Obama might win the district that includes Omaha, hence the stripes.
@paully - i didnt think states were allowed to do that anymore. why wouldn't all states just do electoral votes by county/district then to be more accurate after the whole 2000 debacle?
@Skanko: states can allocate their electoral votes however they want. Most states feel that going all/nothing makes them more important to campaign in, and thus get more attention from the President.
@centro - i knew that technically they could allocate to WHOever they wanted, regardless of the popular vote in that state, however i did not know they could split them. interesting.
ah, this has been so informative!
i remember them discussing nebraska now for a bit. this has made it all make sense.
WE'RE MAVERICKS!
...or just indecisive. so, from now on, any time i can't make up my mind--it's MAVERICK time, and i don't have to make any decision! hurrah!

(although my county was singled out as particularly blue on the national coverage.)
