Because social justice is a *bad* thing?

Phyllis Schlafly is fucking nuts. She still thinks that there is a man out there for every woman and it's obviously a woman's fault she's single because she just isn't trying hard enough. UGH.
I'm pretty impressed that she used the word "highfalutin" in her article. I've never seen it in print before.
@daisy half-wit: I'm not sure I see whats wrong with that.
I mean assuming that to be false, the leaves
a) The entire male gender is defective, and all women are better off alone or
b) Some people are destined to die alone no matter what they do.
But then again, I don't know how she defines "trying hard enough". If we're talking about being outgoing, getting out there, having an open mind, trying new things, and meeting people, that's one thing. If we're talking about cooking, cleaning and popping out babies, I can understand the ire.
From the article: It is clear that "social-justice teaching" does not mean justice as most Americans understand the term.
Isn't that the idea behind educating them, then?
@Namrok: For me what's wrong with it is that it suggests the will of an interventionist god who has us all paired up heterosexuality like Noah's animals. I'm *married* and I think that's creepy.
@be secret: I guess I didn't read that much into it. I saw it more as "Well, yeah, there are women and men in approximately equal numbers." Then again, I don't read what the woman says to begin with. I just say someone getting pissy over the notion that you can find someone if you try.
I don't think daisy was getting pissy, although what I remember about the 7 years I was single between marriages suggests to me that one is entitled to be at least pissy because of how holy motherfucking much dating sucks.
Phyllis Schlafly does indeed seem to be insane.
Schlafly is such a.... ugh.... there are no words to describe her awfulness.
a few years ago, a friend and I were discussing her and how funny it was that she and so many other right-wing nutjobs have gay relatives and my friend said "isn't it nice when people who deserve gay sons get them?"

"teaching kids to question whoever happens to hold the reins of power at a particular moment. It's about seeing yourself not just as a consumer (of information), but as an actor-critic"
But... that's great! That's how I am!
