well, the libertines brought good and bad things for the uk. the good was that genuinely good bands started getting big, like arctic monkeys.. the bad was that some AWFUL bands labelled as 'indie' have come through and become successful because stupid gullible idiots think they're cool. THEY'RE NOT.
having said all that, i like that pigeon detectives song 'take her back'. it's catchy, and er... i once kissed someone who was 22 when i was 17, you see, and y'know, the lyrics mention that. so that was... funny.

ct: well maggie's got dementia now, so i'd feel compelled to look after her and not be mean. even if she didn't, i wouldn't feel like i had to be mean to her, because i wasn't really around during her reign. i might ask her how she manages to be so serious all the time though, it must be EXHAUSTING.

yes! i had a brief dalliance (in a listening sense) with them last year sometime, and was reminded of them when i downloaded a free wichita records sampler CD last week. they're lovely.
