Will everyone get their feelings hurt when I don't follow them back? I have a really hard time participating if i have a really hard time keeping up.

Haha - ignore Swirsky! He's just being his typical smart-ass self.
(But you should add him to your team, because he will consistently make you lol).
Who cares.
If I were to say to you, "I am mad at you because you did not subscribe to my RSS feed," you would punch me and then laugh at me as I cried.
It's not just that. I log in and I see I have 9 followers or 10 or whatever. Likewise, on Twitter, it's about 4:1 followers:following.
I was more just sorta announcing a personal trend. I think the first comment back to myself was more what I wanted to say.
More lurked than lurker.
Also, why do I need to participate in other people's conversations when I am perfectly willing to respond to my own? Saves time, and I love the audience AND the writer.
I actually have more people I'm following than followers on twitter. Especially if you discount the wacky bastards that add everyone, like "MyUFOBlog", who I can't block, for some reason (thanks, twitter).
My tweets aren't for everyone. Okay, they're practically for noone, but I don't care.
I'm only following you cause I'm a fan of your music; I don't really know you so I ain't hurt.
Though we have actually met in the real world!
Now that is a capital idea!
At this point, I think if it's legal, I'm obliged to do it for money. Illegal requests are handled on a case-by-case basis.
We can just meet, then you can be on my team.

The more people I try to follow, the less likely I am do make something for the people who want to follow me.
