In case you still drink water from bottles. I only drink water from the nipples of the earth (that's what I call a faucet).
Thirsty Swirsky!
Just like the lottery is a tax on people who are bad at math, bottle water is a tax on people who are thirsty.
My problem isn't with the supply as much as the demand. We're all going to get cancer and die. I would just rather get it from a cellphone (something that doesn't come from a faucet in my sink).
The funniest thing about "pure" bottled water is that the tap water in most of America has less impurities in it than bottled water- it just tastes a bit different. So what? Get yourself a filter and you'd never notice.
If you could get gin from a tap, would you even bother with bottles?
@Phro: me too!
I personally do not trust tap water, no floride for me please.
I have a lot of trouble drinking water that isn't distilled. I figure it has something to do with a childhood in Florida, beset on all sides by sulphur-tinged well water... I guess I am pretty indifferent to tap water in places where tap water's not terrible, and I'm also indifferent to most bottled waters. But I don't like the taste of either of them much -- I greatly prefer distilled water.
I guess the environmental impact of buying water in bottles, even 2.5 gallon bottles, isn't great, but I choose to weigh it against everything else I do... not owning a car = serious leeway. (And if we're considering trespasses against the environment, my fear of hand-washing and resulting unwillingness to own any reusable cups or glasses is way worse than anything I might do with water anyway.)

This post made me thirsty! I'm going to get a bottle of water.
