Let's dance!
Okay, so I'm my school's music teacher. It has not been the BEST week so far, so I've decided that, if only for my own sake, I need to have a fun piece of music to dance to tomorrow. I don't even care if it's musically educational or anything... just FUN.
What do you recommend for 3-year-olds through Kindergarteners to be able to dance to? As long as it doesn't have bad words, I really am open to ANYTHING.
Influence the youth of today with GOOD MUSIC!

DANG IT. I was going to go with "Walk Like an Egyptian" till they started talking about hookahs and cigarettes!
I swear there's some Alvin and the Chipmunks version of that song that must be clean.
This was linked from an good article on Salon.com and the links to other "kindie rock" blogs seem helpful

Ohhhh! Erinzzzz! That is VERY exciting! I will spend gobs of time looking at those later. I already started and sort of got overwhelmed, but I'm very excited to browse and get some new ideas.
Does anyone see a major problem with Spoon? I was thinking maybe "The Underdog" or something like that?
I want to do like a big train dance all over the room...
Oh man! The Underdog is a good one! Also Young Folks by Peter, Bjorn + John with that good kid-friendly whistling...
I picture kind of dancing around like airplanes to "The Underdog"... does that make sense?
...every time i read/hear "monster mash" i think of the freaks and geeks scene....
I just burned a CD that has "Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da," "Young Folks," and "The Underdog" for tomorrow to have some options. I really only do one dance piece, and I'm pretty set on "The Underdog" for tomorrow, but I am planning to kind of play it by ear seeing what the energy is like.

Y'know, "The Time Warp" is clean, and it's simple enough ...
