How people see me...Or at least my coworkers...According to my annual review

I got much the same analysis. My boss' recommendation: "act like you've got an election to win."
This morning I accused him of fraternizing with terrorists. Wish me luck!
My boss told me that people found me "arrogant" and "condescending" when they sought my help, to which I replied that I only help people when I feel like I absolutely know a subject (hence, maybe I appear arrogant) and that I feel disappointed if someone is asking me something they should already know (hence, yes I can be condescending).
I didnt realize it at the time, but that's an arrogant asshole answer. Yet, I feel fairly strongly about "owning" whatever area of responsibility one has. The work we do is a lifestyle and passion for better and worse - which you either have or havn't. It makes stressful, but that's what it is.

Spot on, man. Some of the scripts I get to translate from English to Spanish are just horrible.

From my annual review: insightful, detailed oriented, pretentious, leadership oriented, arrogant, problem solver, moody, strong contributor, and sometime curt.
No joke.
