Columbus Day equals sales, days off work and people making jokes to me about the raping and pillaging of my people.

Columbus Day is stupid because it is virtually UNOBSERVED in Miami. So everyone else gets the day off and I always still hadda go to school and that made me angry.

I was supposed to work today, but I took a personal day just because. It's probably the only *holiday* I'll get to *observe* all year!
I didn't even realize it was today till I was listening to the radio at work just now.
It makes me feel so old when I think about Columbus Day. When I was a kid they taught us in school that he actually discovered America. Also, Pluto was still a planet. Wow.
