It's 50k, but…yeah.
Mormonism's come a long way, baby. Why, they just denounced polygamy officially 118 years ago, and they're already ready to talk about the sanctity of marriage!
It's Ok! When they foreclose on their house because of this, both McCain and Obama promised to buy them another one!
Here's an interesting data point. I attend services at two synagogues. One, walking distance from my home, is a traditional orthodox congregation. They would all believe that Marriage should be between a man and a woman.
HOWEVER, not once have they ever asked me to donate to anything other than charities to support feeding, clothing, or sheltering the poor (of all faiths), or to donate money to keep the synagogue running.
That's the difference between Jews and idolaters.
i should not have started reading (and responding to) the comments on that article; now i'm kinda depressed.
it makes me think that the bigger deal isn't really about the laws and rights in question, but about the psychology behind taking those rights away.
Not all Mormons give a shit. Just figured I'd throw that out there.
