I heard a story on the radio, a couple of days ago, about a couple in Meridian, Idaho who named their daughter Palin.

Is his daughter going to be of the helmet wearing variety? I think that is the only time it is ok to name your kid PALIN.
Benjamin Franklin, if we're talking last names, was primarily known as a politician, but he didn't run for very many elections. He was so well-known as a statesman, that many of his offices were the result of special balloting. Oops.
And at least Benjamin Franklin read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence (he signed them both). As someone who made his fortune publishing newspapers, I am confident Benjamin Franklin would be disappointed that someone who studied journalism in a university doesn't read newspapers. After all, his rise to fame was primarily because of his writing and publishing.
Also, in stark contrast to Sarah Palin, Benjamin Franklin was a scientist and one of the most renowned minds of his or any other generation. Somehow, I doubt that we'll be talking about Sarah Palin's dizzying intellect in 300 years. Or in 3 years. Or in 3 months.
please, god, say it isn't so!!!
at least he could have used the sarah palin baby name generator and been a bit more 'creative.' http://politsk.blogspot.com/2008/09/sarah_13.html
@catlady - Wow...my name would have been Drink Hack Palin. And I'd have been sad.

The father, whose first name is Franklin, said "I was named after a great politician, and I wanted to do the same for my daughter."
I think he missed the point.
