I refuse to be apologetic for caring about shit that I think is important, and for trying to convince others of the importance of said shit.

I have watched the decimation of the country that I live in due to greed and ignorance, and as long as I continue to live here, I will continue to fight to prevent its further decline.

Wait, someone thinks you should shut up?

This is not so much directed at anyone here as it is the world, in general.

Some people want to live in a democracy without actually having to take on the responsibilities of being a citizen of a democracy. And many of these same people want to force democracy on others, who are perfectly content living in an autocracy, where they do not have to think about or participate in the decisions of their government. The irony of this disturbs me.

I 100% agree with Richard Dreyfuss' assertion that we need to relearn the non-partisan tools of a democracy: reason, logic, clarity, dissent, civility, and debate.

I believe that if we were more adept at using these as citizens, we would be less tolerant of our leaders refusal to utilize them.

last resort of the clueless:  "if you don't like it, move to canada!"

because naturally, agreeing with those in power is what america is all about.

I am very disappointed in my fellow Americans. We get the government we deserve.
