whoa...
is this a decision you've reached personally about it being time to have this discussion, or...?
that's gotta be a difficult thing to do. i/we are with ya, sb...
@Garak: yes, i've thought about it a lot and in spite of having been advised (years ago) not to volunteer this information to employers, i am now in a field where people are more sensitive to mental health issues and i feel like it's the right thing to do, out of respect for them as much as anything else. i just don't like feeling as though i'm lying to these people. they're too awesome for that.
that is really brave. i hope they are supportive and understanding.
update: it went really well. my supervisor is a great guy and i learned a lot about him too. overall, a fantastic conversation.
now i just have to figure out a nice way to tell them their website sucks beyond hope and that i can't work on it unless they let me redesign pretty much everything on there.
Just came across this now...glad it went so well. Strength and support to you, my friend.

i'm going to be talking with my supervisor today about my diagnosis of PTSD and how it affects my ability to work. i have never told any of my employers about this before. wish me luck, please.
