What are some good alt-country, twangy, soft artists that I can download? I'm in a mood.

I already have those and the other popular ones, like Neko Case and Calexico.
I wouldn't consider the Avett Brothers "soft", though! Which is probably why I like them.
I like Ryan Adams' more solo stuff. I can't stand him with a band, though.
Sweeet. And it's playing a Neal Casal song right now, it's nice.
Makes me want to go home and drink sweet tea on the porch and wait for the thunderstorms.
J. Tillman is really making me happy right now. He's so gentle and strong at the same time.
what about old school stuff. The Band, for example.
Oh yeah, Bruce Cockburn (I know, say that name without grinning)and a lot of John Hiatt (but be careful, cause his cheese gets mixed in with his better stuff)
And then there's Chris Whitley's first cd, seriously the best single cd in this genre by far.
I don't NEED soft music, I'm just feeling homesick, but not homesick enough to listen to mainstream country right now.
Oh man, now if I could just find more bands featuring the musical saw, I'd be in heaven right now.
OKKERVIL RIVER.... *most* of their stuff is soft, a little rocking, and def. twangy.
