tell me what's on your mind. but only if it's about sex, music, books or food and/or drink.

@H55: i don't know how to pronounce that, but i'm sure it's a lovely kick in the face indeed.
sex: I live in DC, so don't even ask.
music: I saw The Bird and the Bee on Friday, and I ordered the new MC frontalot album (which is really good)
books: I just picked up Death With Interruptions because it seemed like a really fascinating idea- what if death just...stopped?
food: I'm trying not to think about that- endocrine disorder doesn't make that easy.
@turtleface: i need string cheese too. have you done it with jon yet?
Sex: The last time with the boy was amazing. I've been thinking about it since then and hope I can get one more round in before I'm on the rag.
Books: Currently reading World War Z and Blood, Beer and Cornmeal. I'm looking forward to receiving one called "Fierce People" It ships soon and I can't wait to read it.
Food: Today I got to eat some french bread and cheese together and it was heaven. I want more.
Music: Thinking of hunting a song and downloading it. Trying to decide if I am missing any music that I want to put on the ipod.
@FiZ: as someone who just moved out of DC after living there and trying to date there for three years...I am so, so sorry.
@marry: what's wrong, sweetie? you should try to eat.
@FIZ: why does living in DC mean i shouldn't ask about sex?
sex: could definitely use more, but right now I'm just glad i actually have time to masturbate
music: actually spent the day listening to a bunch of new stuff I hadn't gotten around to. I've stockpiled at least a couple hundred albums that came out in the last year or two, time to start working my way thru them before my iPod bursts.
books: just got 8 more from Amazon this weekend, added it to the other 30/40 in the "to read" pile. Actually had time to do some reading today, i love having a real weekend!
food: I'm stuffed full of paella. Fridge stocked with Whole Foods. And sooo not looking forward to Yom Kippur.
@strangerbox: considering mister H55 has over a year of experience more than me in this city, I'll let him explain it to you.
@sb: after my last girlfriend and the last girl i dated. (the last girlfriend cut me off. the last girl i dated cock teased me for 6 weeks) i took time off. now i'm crushing on a co-worker, but i'll probably pussy out on that
as for the food it was at this place called the porter
@FIZ: i dated a guy from DC. he was the kinkiest thing ever. like, to the point where he was scary even to me, and that's hard to do.
@sb: I can only offer one of two explanations for that: the rare exception to the rule or years of repression from this social hellhole.
@xop: i hear you about having time to masturbate. been there... felt that ridiculous relief.
and i heart paella.
@fiz and stranger: DC is an...odd town. It has a ridiculous number of single people, both sexes, but nobody actually dates. Even moreso than NY or LA, people are too busy looking for the next best thing to settle down. They also tend to have an overinflated sense of self-importance, which makes them insufferable.
Biggest thing, though, is that DC is largely a town of transient people. Nobody moves to DC with the expectation that they'll set down roots. They'll be there for a few years "for experience," and then move someplace else.
@strangerbox... i have this weird awkward cold where my throat feels like sandpaper, i cant breathe, and im coughing. its making me nervous cause im super afraid its bronchitis again. i had it from january till april. so its like ugh. no more. but i feel the way i did when it started. annnd im trying to figure out if the boy is cheating on me or not. ha. sooo. its not helping the appetite. ; l. thanks for asking though.
Catlady and Stockholm are coming to visit the bay area next week, and that's kinda like sex.
hmm... this guy was an exception to most rules, but he did have the overinflated sense of self-importance.
then again, i'd say more than half of all men have that.
@sb: After college in this town, the most social interaction you're going to get is drinks with your coworkers. You can go to any bar, club or other function you'd like but nobody talks to anybody they didn't walk in with- period.
@marry: oh dear. i hope you feel better soon, and you should kick the boy in the head if he is insensitive enough to cheat on you while you are ill.
sex: Well... umm... you know...
music: I just watched Nick+Norah's Infinite Playlist and downloaded the soundtrack. I like it. Other than that the heavy rotation has been The Avett Brothers and The Zombies.
books: I think I am going to start The New Kings of Nonfiction edited by *le sigh* Ira Glass.
food: Thawing out a lamb shoulder to braise with some fingerling potatoes for tomorrow. Later in the week = Taco Bar!
Sex: currently not a viable option since girl and I are no longer a thing. It's just as well, though, as the relationship wasn't what anyone would call exciting.
Music: perhaps I'll put on some pete yorn while I study.
Books: Lemone and Burke's Guide to Medical Surgical Nursing. Tonight, the Renal system, in all it's pee inspiring glory.
Food : tonight I had leftover meatloaf and am currently enjoying starbucks peppermint tea.
@FiZ: you're forgetting the icing on the cake: complaining to those same coworkers/classmates the next day about how nobody talks to you at bars.
@xenu: tell catlady i think she's incredibly awesome. but i'm too shy to tell her myself.
@Erinzzz: braised lamb and potatoes sounds mouth-watering.
@JasAsian: there ARE other girls, you know. i can't imagine you'd have all that much trouble finding them.
@H55: It's a sick and twisted place all right. Granted, it's a fuckton better than Detroit.
@strangerbox - well, it's only been a week since it ended, sweetie. ;-)
I'm just readjusting to not having it "on tap" two or three times a week.
sex: might have some? it's possible.
music: showtunes.
books: i are literut
food: ate a bunch of crap this weekend. there goes my having lost a few pounds.
drink: BOOZE THIRTY.
@pepper: who's the lucky partner? and since when do you need to lose weight, silly.
@sb: if i decide to have sex, he knows who he is. (NOTE FORTHCOMING)
also, i don't really need to, but i want to lose a few. i'm feeling a little squishy.
@stranger There's a spanish place a couple blocks from me that does out-of-this-world paella, I went there tonight specifically because I'd been craving it for weeks, and it did NOT disappoint. Half of it is waiting in my fridge for dinner tomorrow.
@erin New Kings Of Nonfiction is among the books in my "to read" pile. If you get to it before I do, let me know how it is!
@strangerbox: I will, but you should tell her yourself. I'm sure she thinks you're awesome, too. :)
Sex: Would be nice right about now. Sadly, no prospects available at the moment.
Music: Have been on an americana kick recently. Old Crow Medicine Show and Band of Heathens.
Books: Perdido Street Station. Good. Weird and good.
Food: Two baked potatoes. Mmm. Potatoes.
Drink: Nothing at the moment.
H55 - El Paso. It's hard to find people here who don't have children already.
@Xop, what is the Spanish place near you? tonight i went to Dali for tapas. it was lovely.
sex: uninterested at this point.
Music: if it's Canadian, I probably love it. And I'm going to see Jay Z tomorrow!!!!!!!!
Books: Atonement. And now with no innernet I've got plenty of time to read it.
And I read enough wikipedia to fill 23778963267 books..
Food: Mmm angelhair with homemade tomato sauce
ugh I stuck a heart in there and it ate my post. Continuing....
Food: see above. I probably shouldn't have eaten so late but I kinda forgot to eat, and I'll probably be up for a few more hours.
Too poor for drinking, but I think I'll treat myself tomorrow at the show, 12:30pm be damned.
sex: as I explained it to my friend last night, I'm finally ready to go to the sexy party, but I don't think anyone wants to invite me.
music: oh, I love folk music this time of the year.
books: oh my god i'm reading so much because of my 400 level lit class. but I like it. but it's a lot. all the time.
food: I got cheap chinese food today. and it was fab.
@stranger It's called El Olivo, 31st St between Ditmars and 21st Ave.
@sven: woohoo, have fun at Jay Z! atonement is on my list too.
@daisy: i love folk music most times of year. where are you from, and do you have a decent folk scene there?
@Xop: word, i will have to check that place out. thanks man.
@sb: Sorry, but state rivalry aside, NOTHING will convince me that Cleveland's in an overall worse state than Detroit right now. Maybe in days past, but not any more.
Man, I feel so bad for anyone living in Michigan or Detroit particularly right now (including most of my family). If you are feeling bad about recession, meet Michigan, star if its own one state full on depression.

Sex: Need it
Music: listening to Sigur Ros, trying to think of a playlist to make for my roommate, who is under the weather.
Books: need a new one, but I'll probably just use this time to finally finish Guns, Germs and Steel
Food: not hungry now
Drink: eyeing the bottle of scotch across the room.
