I need to get money out of the bank, but I really do not want to look at my bank balance...

That doesn't mean that you are safe. When our fake economy finishes imploding, it will take everybody else's economy with it. Hooray globalization!
um... not really.
hooray arrogant americans?
yes things will get shitty, but our banks are really quite solid. I'm more worried about not being able to eat, than my bank going tits up.
no I shouldn't.
I'm not a fucking american.
and then...
hooray arrogant americans?
K.
oh didn't anyone figure out that I'm a leftist canadian asshole?
cause I am.
sorry.
@tee- to be honest (and not trying to be mean) our banks are in very good shape, it's partly because of how they've been regulated, and partly because of how our economy is so strongly tied to resources.
We also have some fairly conservative (from a canadian perspective) politicians in power right now and they are concentrating very hard on growth and stability. Also my bank is like eight million years old or something... not that that makes a difference.
Good thing you have Twigby and Artschooled to help redeem your country a little.
That is really good to hear, and I hope that I'm wrong in my understanding of macro, but the meltdown of the American spending machine is going to hurt a lot more people than just the ones living here, as I see things.
well I don't think I represent my country.
By no means think of canada as full of angry communists. We're here, but it's a minority.
Everything I know about Canadians, I learned from Strange Brew and South Park.
i want to be a leftist canadian asshole, instead of a leftist american asshole.
@tee- true. you're are largest trading partner. But emerging economies like china and india also need lumber, metals, and uranium. We just need to get our shit together and we'll be fine. but there will probably be a food shortage. Since NAFTA we've been growing less and less of our own food. If the agriculture sector in the US goes down, we'll get really hungry, really fast.
@soulcamp- I'm not sure if that's too much, or not enough info about the canadian psyche.
Who's gonna redeemed America as a country on here?
And you forgot -j.
@oom- I think that depends on how you want it to be redeemed, and to whom you are redeeming it.
i'll be fair: i probably would've had the same response as Sarah if I got a response like that.
@Mao - man. . .it's gonna take more than a thousand people to do that. . . .ANYWHERE
My point exactly. It's unredeemable. Can we break it up into the blue and red pieces now, even though I'll be trapped on the wrong side of the border.
"The South is gonna rise again!" Yep, here ya go, buddy. Good luck with that without all those federal tax dollars from the other productive states that believe in things like equal rights for gays, education, and not blowing your whole wad on shiny military hardware meant to fight enemies that no longer exist.
the first step to redeeming ourselves with the rest of the world (and it's gonna take A LOT) is to disconnect the south from us.
they're like 80% at fault for everything
we're 20% at fault for 1. not letting them secede and 2. not killing the lot of them off

You should be checking to make sure your bank is still your bank.
