just saw the full trailer yesterday. it just looks so good! especially given that it's building off of CASINO ROYALE, which was pretty close to perfect, in my opinion. (it even begins moments after CASINO's ending, which I love)

I am too, but question - what's up with the name? I'm used to my Bond titles being a bit more straight forward.

I know! Oh my good I'm fucking excited. I think Craig is the best bond since Sean Connery. I'm so pissed though, because it comes out in the states on the 7th and not here until the 14th.

Quantum of TERRIBLE NAME.

@ct: is a quantum a unit of measurement? A bucket of comfort, a quantum of solace?

I think it's an advancement as a title. I remember when "License Revoked" had its name changed to "License to Kill" when it was revealed in surveys that North American test audiences didn't know what "revoked" meant.

Casino Royal was entertaining and this one looks to be shaping up pretty good. Consider my interest mild. I'll probably wait for the reviews because I'm an asshole like that.

I'm super X-cited, believe you me.

Quantum of Solace is a fragment of a quote from one of the short stories, or something ridiculous like that. I'm not sure why they picked it for the movie title.

Garak said, (50 days ago)

Chrome is right - it was either from a little-known Ian Fleming story, or the title of one.

i read somewhere that QUANTUM, besides the obvious surface meaning surrounding the whole Vesper situation, is actually an acronym for a secret group Bond encounters in this outing...

which they haven't even figured out the full spelling/meaning of yet, which is kind of cheeky and ballsy, but potentially cool and interesting nonetheless

s'a little heady as a Bond title, I agree, but I don't hate it the way many (most?) seem to. in fact, it's kind of grown on me, seems very classy, smart, elevated.

hey...it's better than The Phantom Man Ass, y'know?

I can make sense and still be a terrible name, which it is. Entirely too pretentious and snooty for a fucking Bond film.
