I got Neil Gaiman to promise to be my friend's magical uncle last night. He was uncertain about the responsibilities that entailed at first, but I got him to promise. (Because I am an awesome friend.) She emailed him today to confirm. He emailed her back and signed the email, "yr magical uncle." ... that makes me very happy.

The fact that you have contact with Neil Gaiman is enough, but this is simply too much. Now I feel the urge to drive an hour to my parents house and sift through their garage until I find my Sandman anthology.
I don't have contact with him! Anyone can email him through the "Contact Neil" part of his website; he just usually doesn't respond. :-) I simply showed up to his reading tour, and he is nice and talks to people.
Oh, man, I'd love to meet him. He's a huge inspiration on me as writer even though I wouldn't dare try to write fantasy.
Going to school in West Lafayette, Indiana though. I'm in class not paying attention as we speak!
Well geez! He's in Chicago tonight.
Thursday, 6:00pm
6pm Tivoli Theatre, hosted by Andersons Bookshop

You can go and see him yourself if you can make it. :)
It's an hour and a half trip. :( Who knows though, spontaneity is king, ya know?
...um, I do not follow him so religiously that I know what city he's in off the top of my head. I did know about Chicago because he asked me whether I was gonna be there. (Ha! That is far! I am not that crazy.)
Oh, ok, so "you'd love to meet him" so long as you don't have to travel over half an hour for the pleasure, eh? Okay. :-P
Yeah, I probably won't due to sheer laziness and lack of motivation, but thanks for the info, Neil Gaiman stalker lady. :)

That is pretty neat.
