I'm reading a bunch of stuff on him right now because we just watched Faces in my film class. He says a lot of profound sounding stuff. But then he also says a lot of asshole-y stuff about how the way he makes movies is the best way.

I thought he was good in "Rosemary's Baby". That's about the limit of my experience with him.
I've never seen any of his films. But I always think of that Le Tigre song "What's Yr Take On Cassavettes?"
