From an actual email going around today that someone just forwarded me: "RE: Setting Mtg. with _________ Hey _____: I'm sorry, b/c I'm covering for YYY's usual assistant, could you tell me, who's Rosh Hashanah and why would he/she affect ZZZ's meeting with YYY and XXX? Thanks! I really appreciate it! A Really Stupid GIrl Who is Apparently New To Hollywood, and Perhaps Planet Earth" (names have been erased to protect the dumb, and the victims of the dumb's dumbness)

"I don't know who Shofar is, either, but if that's what I'm supposed to do with him I'm going to have to report him to HR."

rosh hashannah is on my birthday again, as usual. when i was growing up it was always either rosh hashannah, yom kippur, or on one of the high holy days in between.
lucky kid.
i 2nd the "lol" at mikko!
very clever...
i will say i had no concept of what the Jewish holidays were growing up, as I grew up in a pretty white/non-religious household. and didn't really have any jewish friends.
but for someone working in H'wood...and given that it's the year 2008...i just found this priceless
That's pretty sad. But what's sadder is that it is not surprising. Like the girl I worked with who didn't know who Bob Dylan was and didn't want to find out.
khaaaaan - that IS sad...you gotta love it when someone goes "and I don't wanna know". Ah, ignorance...
