The End of the Universe

Did anyone catch any of the Sean Hannity "interview" of Sarah Palin? It was the most disreputable, scripted, partisan bullshit masquerading itself as journalism I have ever witnessed. I had to turn it off after about 10 minutes. I seriously was about to vomit.

At the bottom of the screen was a giant banner than kept flashing "Breaking News" and displaying direct quotes of what Palin had just said moments earlier, like "Getting that nod was quite an experience" and "I said, absolutely, let's get in there, let's reform, we'll shake things up."

And people are worried about the Hadron Collider creating a black hole and destroying the planet. The singularity formed by the meeting of "minds" between Sean Hannity and Sarah Palin created such a void in the space-time continuum that Stephen Hawking himself might consider abandoning science in favor of joining Heaven's Gate.

More breaking new Palin quotes:

"The upmost honor is what I felt when he asked me"

"The economy is a mess: and there have been abuses on Wall St"

"We need a more coordinated & much more stringent oversight regime"

"Govt can play a very appropriate role is oversight"

"It's going to take everybody working together on this"

"Being addicted to, we call it, OPM, O-P-M, 'Other People's Money'"

"Govt has got to play an appropriate role in oversight"

"Fannie & Freddie are diff b/c they're quasi-govt agencies"

Oh. My. GOD. She's a fucking genius! Who knew?

Only on Fox News...

@soulcamp: I wouldn't worry about that scientific possibility too much. Both Palin and Hannity are very meticulously monitored and controlled- much like any scientific experiment with forces so destructive.

...just without any benefit to humankind.

One of Hannity's questions to Palin was actually, "Is Senator Obama using what happened on Wall Street this week for political gain?"

We report. You decide.

So are you angry that's she's of dubious qualifications? Or shocked that Sean Hannity maybe very biased?

It's American politics, I'm learned not to be shocked by anything.

If you remember, SNL lampooned that some of the Obama v. Hillary debates were pro-Obama jokes. And of course, remember when Stephanopolous (sp) corrected Obama about his "Muslim faith" comment?

Same shit, different pile. Welcome to American politics.

I expected it to be a farce, but I didn't expect the scripted attacks on Obama to come DIRECTLY from Hannity himself. They could have tried to be more creative. This was supposedly billed as an "interview" of Sarah Palin. Clearly, it was nothing of the sort.

@fuck life: I didn't think it could be done, but last night's Daily Show was actually able to make me laugh about this.
