Doctor Who: The Movie?

Monkey, he's on for one more year, depending on who you ask.
But, the comment symbolizes a potential problem with the show "going Hollywood." Kylie Minogue, for example, got pretty mixed reviews for her one-shot appearance.
Probably best not to fret, though, Art.
I mean, these are the very same people who made the show into something we love, aren't they?
Sure, creators falter (I'm looking at you, Chris Carter), but it's better than some Johnny-come-lately or studio focus group getting their hands on a franchise.
Monkey: True, Davies and company -- and now Moffat -- have earned a degree of trust. Like I mentioned above, there's already been cinematic moments in the series: both of the past two season-ending arcs had that kind of feel to them. But by the same token, a degree of leeryness at Hollywood entering the picture isn't entirely unhealthy. It could help us prepare for the worst, whatever it is.
Whenever a series gets turned into a movie, I am skeptical. Movies seem to be more final than a series. Where the series continues weekly, a movie will try and cram everything they can into 2 little hours.
I am not saying this happens to every series made movie, but it happens enough.

I should have a post on this up tonight.
Check that; it's up now ... yes, it is slow at work, why do you ask?

Eh. Russell T. Davies doesn't have much say anymore anyway, does he?
