Bush quotes from Woodward Interviews
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/nation/specials/war-within/audio/audio.html?hpid=topnewsThis is why Bob Woodward is a real journalist. There is no way I could sit there and listen to these answers without screaming, "Holy shit! You're fucking retarded!! We're all gonna die!!!"

Also, I have refrained from talking about the Fannie/Freddie takeover, as it is simply too depressing to even think about...
*twitch*
I keep saying that I want to leave. That I want to go to Austria. And I know they have their own set of problems. But I don't know how they can be worse than America's. I'm so ready to be an ex-pat.
Wow, how certain journalists heads didn't pop from taking these lines is baffling.
Maybe I don't have my hater hat on firmly enough.
What was so bad about those answers?
he got the majority vote the second time :( much as it hurts to say it
Namrok, not all of them are blatantly bad, but then you get something like this:
Woodward: And you were asking questions. "Well, how many have we killed?"
President Bush: I ask that on occasion to find out whether or not we're fighting back.
Woodward: Okay.
President Bush: Because the perception is, is that our guys are dying and they're not. Because we don't put out numbers. We don't have a tally. On the other hand, if I'm sitting here watching the casualties come in, I'd at least like to know whether or not our soldiers are fighting.
I mean, seriously.... he asserts that our soldiers aren't dying, but if they are he wants to be sure that they're fighting back. Because, you know, that's not normally what soldiers do.
Even when his answers aren't out and out nonsensical, he expresses himself in such a vague and rambling way that I have a hard time believing that he really knows what is going on.
Just listening to him, you get the clear sense that he is a man of below-average intelligence who thinks he is of above-average intelligence. He tries to explain the simplest of concepts as if they were really complex, and only he can fully understand them. That is fucking scary as all hell.
Even scarier is Sarah Palin, who may very-well be even less intelligent and informed as he is. What's unclear at this time is whether *she* is aware of that or not.
Really, the worst thing about the Woodward interviews that I have read so far is that Bush and the other high-level guys readily admit to knowing that the strategy was failing, but refused to even discuss a new one for over four months because they were afraid it would have negative results for the Republicans in the coming election. Most of us already suspected this was the case, but in these interviews, Bush and others flat out confirm this. This meant they continued to execute a strategy that they knew was flawed and was resulting in thousands of casualties, both civilian and military. For that alone, these people should be tried and convicted of manslaughter.

Someone, explain to me how this man is any smarter:
