has anyone here read "ishmael" or daniel quinn's other works?

and? what do you think? i've read them each a few times (just finished "my ishmael" again) and i feel relieved and yet also frustrated.
I've only read Ishmael, at my bff's suggestion, and I know a number of people who felt seriously influenced by it, but...I didn't affect me that strongly, I guess. On the other hand, I read it several years ago, so maybe it's just worn off by now.
I read Ishmael for a class in college, and while I liked the ideas he was getting it, it was just so straight-up wrong from a human development and evolution/anthropological perspective that it hurt my head to really try and process it.
@xop: mother culture! see, it makes so much sense to me- but i don't know how to proceed. that's what hurts my head... i have all this information and no outlet for it.
@val: i read it for the first time maybe 7 years ago? and i would say that it had a much stronger impact this time around. maybe give it another go, if you want.
@twigby: clearly you're literate, so no. ;)
@artschooled- so what do you take from it? what do you do next? thoughts on it? feelings?
My friend is a Quinn fanatic, but I don't see why everyone thinks he's so damn brilliant. I basically reacted to it the same way as Xopchipili...plus it seemed like everything had been dumbed down and I don't like authors talking to their readers like that.

Yes.
