I too am left with one question: why on earth did you watch "Daddy Day Camp"? ;)
(Also, I once read an interview with Mr. Gooding, Jr...he was asked a similar question to the one you propose. His answer was more or less, "anything I try out for, they say 'we want Will Smith' and that's the end of that.")

@-j: The boy wanted to see it, so his mom and I have been in negotiations as to who would have the "privilege" of watching it with him. I caved. But she owes me big now.
And I don't buy the Will Smith answer. There are tons of smaller films that would kill to have someone like Cuba in them, I'm guessing. Either he's snubbing them because they aren't big enough, or his agent is retarded.
...WTF happened to Cuba Gooding, Jr.'s career?
