My mom probably wouldn't thank me for posting this picture (she's lost quite a bit of weight since 2002), but it's the most recent photo I have of my grandmother who died a couple of years later.
I wish I could tell you a lot about her, but I find that I'm really only learning more than surface aspects of my family history now. She didn't have an easy life, and at the end it was especially hard with macular degeneration.
She kept her secrets to herself, but some things slipped out in her final months about the family that I still marvel at.
