Tell me your dreams. I'd like to interpret them like old times.

I had a dream where my company was laying off all of my team, but they got us jobs back at the place I worked before here.
I think that had mostly to do with the layoffs that just happened, and the fact that I would hate to go back to work at that other company.
What do you think?

Dreams where you're playing in a band can always just be nice thoughts for something different. Perhaps you play an instrument and don't have enough time with your skills. Or maybe just that it would be nice to gain some recognition in what you do and to also achieve having fun at what you do.
As far as saying goodbye to your estranged best friends. Any estranged relationship can have its effects on your psyche. I guess you've had your ups and downs with this friend, but its always been a little difficult no matter. I believe the dream is only well-wishing that you could turn away from this friend and it end well. Although in all actuality and reality, that typically never happens.

Yeah, probably the fact that layoffs were recently brought up is one of the main reasons you dreamed this. It was fresh on your mind and you probably still carry with it a little worry. The fact that the company that fired you and your team arranged jobs for you at your other job that you hated can simply be an instigator and manipulator in your life at the moment, be it from work, friends, or family. A large part of fear for you could possibly be that you fear what you can't see coming or fix. Outside sources waiting in the wing are on your mind a lot, I believe. The trick is to breathe deep and know you're in control of your own life and can make your own directions.

Aw thanks. Me too! They've always been fun for me and something to do when I was bored. I hope more people post here. A dreary day with a lazy book and a good thread of dreams is always fun. :)
It was bizarre. There was a man, much like Lennie from Of Mice and Men at my cousin's or friend's place in the country we were staying at that kept killing cats, so I kicked his retarded ass. Then there was some dude coming onto me and I told him it would REALLY impress me if he rafted off the waterfall in the river so he did, and died. Then I realized I had work the next day and left.

You car being stolen shows, like with Jay Def's dream, outside sources beyond your control. Some force in your life is pushing you to being bothered. Dreams like this could also mean the feeling of things lost or taken. Maybe a relative, a job, a relationship, an object. Your subconscious associates fears and worries weighing on your mind with other objects in your life you can more easily relate to. It's a way of working things out and dealing without having to bring any of these issues to the real surface. I think your car's going to be fine. You may have to look out for forces that are effecting your ability to move comfortably throughout your life, which is so easily associated with your stolen car.
I used to have a reoccurring nightmare where I was in a completely pitch black room and I could hear a witch scampering around looking for me, cackling all the while. A solid beam of light comes on and shines on a table. I run to the table, the witch breathing down my neck, and jump up onto the table. I slide across the table and just as I reach the far side, out of the darkness appears the witch. I scurry backwards away from her and she disappears into the darkness again. I sit in the middle of the table in the light, as far away from the edges and darkness as I can, listening to the click-clack of her shoes as she passes around the table. And then I wake up.
I had this dream mostly when I was younger 7-12, but as late as 24 years old.
Oh man, the other night I had a dream where I died and became this invisible monster that could turn people into what I was if I snuck up and bit them, so I did it to my boyfriend so he wouldn't be lonely. We decided biting was gross so we started cutting people and dripping our undead invisible blood into them. We converted most of Mission Viejo and were jumping around like the people on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, having the best time ever. Everyone was pissed they were converted at first, then they liked it. Like one set of parents wanted their kids to stay alive so they could be invisible and spy on them and make sure they were behaving.

All "retarded" or mentally challenged men (stereotypically men) are regularly portrayed as the 'lovable and simple yet really fucking strong and scary' characters. Just like in Of Mice and Men. He kept killing cats, which only shows some issues in your life that are important to you. Your mind associates someone/thing you can't completely blame agitating something in your life that's important to you (state of mind, friendship, qualities). The idea that he was retarded shows you that this particular person or event isn't the direct problem and it isn't what you can fix easily or show your total anger for. Your subconscious found a way to deal with him while your surface emotions and feelings are still held back.
A guy coming onto you in dreams, studied meticulously in women's studies and psychology courses, almost always shows a perhaps unwanted object protruding into your life. That's fairly obvious of an interpretation for that, but the idea that you would tell him (in all understanding) that you would accept this intrusion, knowing the possibility of the consequences. Sorry, Tiff, but I think this dream is a particular case of you blaming yourself for something. Maybe for a manipulation or relationship that ended up hurting people, while in the process of dealing with other situations in your life.
The easiest way for your subconscious, possibly your alpha sleep level, is to wrap up your dream and keep everything calm by showing you that life does go own, as cliche as it is to say. You realized you had other options and paths in your life, and you took them. But not as easily as your dream portrayed, I don't think.
Slow Poke:
Since this dream started when you were so young, it preys on your fears, seemingly irrational. The fact that you continued having the dream variations till you were in your mid 20's signifies that you hadn't yet dealt with the witch in your nightmares.
The dream is very child-like, in that it's the darkness you fear, just as much as the witch. The beam of light is the only thing that you believe stops the witch from reaching you, but it most adult minds it would easily seem that staying in the dark, where she can't see you lit up in the beam, would be the best place to hide. I believe the beam of light could be the one thing in your life you've counted on. It may have been a very paper-thin plan to stay in the light, but with all horror movies now-a-days it does make sense. The witch, a force seldom seen but always feared, can be really anything. I can't pinpoint what. It could be a person (that's rare, though). Very seldom do witches and monsters in dreams really replace people from your life. The sound of her shoes running around and around your complacency would probably signify that you dwell on the issue (or used to). I think since you've realized that you don't have the dream anymore it's a problem that has been solved or compartmentalized well with you. There's always a chance you can have the dream again, but with different fears or monsters. Recurring nightmares have always had a way of coming back and staying in your subconscious deeply.

It really does sound like a dream of hope, that your boyfriend and those around you are changing and converting with you. In reality, they probably aren't and won't. However you're changing or thinking of changing. It could also be the opposite - you're trying to shift yourself into staying in one place and being content, and you want those around you to do the same. Maybe they're moving around too much, changing, and developing in ways you can't right now (I'm making this sound like those videos we had to watch when we were thirteen. Sorry).
Jumping around like the martial arts guys is a common weightless feeling, like flying. It's just shows hope and a freeing quality.
No problem! I enjoy doing them. Come back to me if you have any more that you're curious about my take on them.

Lately I've had dreams where I'm playing in a band. And I had one where I said goodbye to my estranged best friend.
