The M*A*S*H appreciation thread

I like the movie because it's somewhat darker. But the sitcom has always been like an insomniac's comfort food, although I haven't seen it in years.
Did you ever hear the actual lyrics to the theme song?? Talk about dark!
One of my favourite shows of all time, even now. When I was little, BJ Hunnicutt was one of my idols.
@guppie: Suicide is Painless? I love that song! The M*A*S*H version gets stuck in my head somethin' fierce though. Not that I particularly mind.
Oh yeah, Hawkeye FTW.
The original movie is fantastic. I was really surprised when I saw it for the first time.
I love that show. Golly, I didn't know anyone else did too! Hooray!
Oh I love the movie too ... for different reasons I think. It definitely has sharper edges.
I've been trying to track down the Loudon Wainwright III version of "Suicide is Painless" with no luck.
@-j - Yesterday's episode was the one where BJ is 'tempted' by the foxy war correspondent. He handled the situation so honestly. He is STILL one of my idols. Heh.
I like both the movie and the series. I own the movie on DVD. It is quite a bit darker.
I've even read the book.
I hate it because I always end up in an apartment. I want my mansion, dammit.

Due to the unimaginative free-to-air tv programmers I fortunately have the opportunity to watch M*A*S*H over and over again. I wonder when I'll get sick of it but it just doesn't seem to happen.
