Conversation Snipits.
So I was having a discussion earlier today that went something like this:
Me: ..and you've heard about the ones who want to riot like 68 or whatever?
Her: oh yea, husband was talking about that. He can't wait for it.
Me: Can't wait for it??
Her: Yea - Americans are content to sit back on their fat asses and bitch on the internet, whereas in S. Korea, where they apparently loved their leader, he lifts the ban on US meat, and they take to the streets in protest. But we (americans) hate our government and president, and we don't do anything but bitch.
Me: Interesting point you make there.

we don't take to the streets in protest?
this month here in chicago, we've had 3 marches against the war, a march against the distribution of funds in the educational system, 4 marches about street violence, and 2 or 3 marches in memorium of children who have died. oh, and the weekly sit-ins and rallies against bush etc.
and those are only the ones i can remember off the top of my head.
@c&M: Of course it would be you to counteract me. :)
HOWEVER... that's all well in good but it's gonna accomplish nowt in small doses. To see real, actual change, it's gonna take a majority.
well, its effecting local policy here in chicago. the state department of education is looking into a redistribution of funds and the CPD are working with neighborhood activists to make the streets safer.

You just got White Riot stuck in my head.
